Scott Friedlein, President
Scott served as an advisory board member during the 15-16 season and is now in his second year as a regular board member. He is a retired police officer who served the City of Champaign for over 26 years. The majority of his career was spent working with University of Illinois college students. No wonder he became such a huge fan. His primary desire as a board president is to show support for our athletes no matter the outcome.
Bruce Knight, President-Elect
Bruce Knight is entering his second year as an Illini Rebounder board member following his wife Mary’s six years on the Board. He is currently the Rebounders President Elect. Bruce is the Planning and Development Director for the City of Champaign and has been an avid Illini fan since moving to the community 30 years ago. Both of the Knight’s children graduated from the University of Illinois and their daughter Libby is an Assistant Director of Athletics Communications at the University of Illinois.

Pat Brown, Secretary
Pat Brown, a U of I alum, retired in June 2015 from Champaign Unit 4 Schools as a special education teacher after 51 years of teaching.
A season ticket holder since the 70's in basketball and 80's in football and a member of Illini Rebounders for 30 years, Pat joined the Illini Rebounders Board as a Board Advisory Member in December 2015 and became a three-year Board Member beginning in July 2016.
Pat currently serves on the boards of the Champaign County Retired Teachers Association, Learning Disabilities Association of Illinois, and the Champaign Illinois Kennel Club. She is also a volunteer for Reach to Recovery of the American Cancer Society. A former German Shepherd breeder, trainer, and exhibitor and Champaign Park District Dog Trainer, Pat stewards at AKC dog shows whenever she can.
Shane Allen, Past-President
Shane Allen is in his third year as an Illini Rebounder board member. He has been an avid Illini fan since attending the University of Illinois in 2004. During his time at the university, he was a member of Orange Krush, often sitting outside in below freezing temperatures for over 12 hours just to get a good seat for the game. He currently works as VP of Finance & Accounting for Regency Multifamily and lives in Savoy with another avid Illini fan, his wife Renee.
Barb Barker, Administrative Assistant
Barb Barker is a retired elementary school teacher teaching in Mahomet for 30+ years while always having lived in Champaign. Became involved with Illini Rebounders from its existence with husband, Dick Barker. Was able to follow the passion of Illini basketball upon retirement. Love getting acquainted with other fans and helping serve the Club.
Scott Burnsmier is a life-long Illini fan and in his third year as an Illini Rebounder. He is an Insurance consultant at Loman Ray Insurance agency. He serves on Kirby Medical Center Foundation board, Volunteer advocate for the Alzheimer's Association. He also serves as a Assistant Cross Country Coach at Monticello High School.
John Rawdin is entering his first year on the Illini Rebounders Board. John grew up cheering on the ILLINI. He retired from public education after serving 20 years in the profession, He married his best friend Lisa in 1979. They have one amazing Daughter, Kara and a beautiful six year granddaughter, Emmery. John is currently a realtor with REMAX Realty Associates where he serves as a sales partner to The Russ Taylor Team. When John is not with family or selling homes, he is enjoying spending time with his many bird dogs.
Ross Richards is entering his first year as an Illini Rebounders board member. Ross is the Director of Annual Giving and Marketing Operations at the University of Illinois Foundation. Born and raised in C-U, Ross is a lifelong Illini fan. He has his MBA from the University of Illinois and lives in Champaign with his wife Maria.
Judy Steffen lives in Oakwood, Illinois. She graduated from Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois and received her Masterâ€™s Degree in Secondary Education from University of Illinois. She spent most of her career teaching English and Speech classes at Oakwood High School. After retiring from Oakwood, she taught part-time at Danville Area Community College. Judy has one daughter, Meredith, who lives in Carrollton, Texas, with her husband, David, and their daughter, Caroline. She is an active member of Oakwood United Methodist Church and currently plays in the church bell choir. She is a member of P.E.O. This is her first year on the Rebounderâ€™s Board of Directors and is a season ticket holder with her sister, Vicki Trask and nephew, Matthew Trask. She loves basketball and is an avid fan of the Illini. She looks forward to serving on the Rebounderâ€™s Board of Directors.
Nancy works as the Director of Workplace Campaigns at United Way of Champaign County. She attended the University of Illinois as an undergrad and has been a huge Illini fan ever since. She and her husband, Rich have season basketball tickets and love to cheer on both the Men’s and Women’s basketball teams.
As a community member, Nancy has served on a variety of positions on PTA Boards; volunteered for the Champaign County Humane Society; been an active volunteer in the Scouting organization; served as a volunteer for the many sport and band activities for her three boys; was a member of the Vestry at her Church and is a member of the Women’s Business Council of Champaign County.
Mark founded Illini Insurance Agency, Inc. in 2005. He currently serves as the Owner/President/Managing Broker with responsibilities for managing and supervising all facets of operations. Mark is a licensed insurance broker with over 30 years experience serving clients in the Insurance, Banking, and Investment industries. Mark is a consumer advocate and utilizes his experience and knowledge to best serve and advise clients on how to get the most out of their insurance and financial services dollar.
Mark graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Economics. He enjoys family , working out, and traveling as well as following Illinois sports teams.
Salvo Rodriquez works as the Director of new Business at United Way of Champaign County. He is a Champaign native, and has a been a fan of Illinois Basketball since he can remember. This is Salvo's first year on our board and is excited to join the others in supporting our Illini. As a community member, Salvo is involved in many organizations here in town. He sits on various committees at Champaign West Rotary, and serves on the board for the Association of Fundraising Professionals of East Central Illinois. He and his wife, Betsy, are big fans of Illini basketball and frequently go to games with her family who are all Illinois Alums.
Hello Illini Rebounders! I came to the University of Illinois as a freshman in 1966, earning a B.S. and M.S. Mark and I met at the end of our freshman year, got married on campus in the middle of our junior year, and have been Fighting Illini fans for almost 50 years. Serving on the Illini Rebounders Board for a third season offers the opportunity to give a little something back to the University that has played a major role in our lives, and to the basketball program that has provided many exciting times, great memories, and even new friends. I look forward to meeting and getting to know more of you. GO ILLINI!
Kyle is entering his first year as an Illini Rebounders board member. He has been a passionate Illini fan since arriving on campus in 1997. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 2001, with a degree in Finance, and has remained in the Champaign-Urbana community ever since.
Kyle currently serves as a Wealth Advisor for Busey Wealth Management. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Molly, and two children, Everett & Marie, coaching his children’s teams, and attending Illini events.
Deanna is in her Second year on the Illini rebounders board. She and her husband John reside in Tuscola and son Blake attends the University of Illinois where he will be a junior this fall.
After graduating from college, she was a cottage social worker at Cunningham Children's Home for eight years and then spent 11 years as a part time office worker and full time cheer coach at Tuscola High School. Deanna is now employed at Kappa Delta sorority on the Illinois campus.
Deanna and her husband are avid Illini fans and have been season ticket holders and I fund members for 25 years.
